Job Summary:

The Director of Safety and Security is responsible for overseeing the safety and security of all district schools and facilities. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive safety plans, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency management agencies, and leading district efforts to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Director works in collaboration with the district’s leadership team, including the Assistant Superintendent, to align safety strategies with the district’s strategic goals and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and best practices.

 

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required

Valid Driver’s License 

 

Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in law enforcement, emergency management, or a related field, with at least three years in training others. Experience in a school setting or with school safety programs is highly desirable.

 

Reports to:

Superintendent

 

Terms of Employment:

This part-time IMRF position consists of 130 working days per year, with an annual salary range of $40,000 to $60,000, as set by the Board of Education. The superintendent will determine the work calendar.

The Director of Safety and Security compensation package offers annual sick and personal leave days and tuition reimbursement options. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands of this position include frequent standing or walking for extended periods. The employee may occasionally lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds. Repetitive bending at the waist, kneeling, stooping, and crouching to assist are also required. Employees may reach overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
